开篇：宣言《科学的复兴》
近两百年来，科学越来越专业，越来越像一份职业，求知的乐趣被流水线、论文计数和知识的洪水挤到了一边；AI 是第三重危机，也是转机。宣言主张把科学还给好奇心：让更多的人上手玩，也让所有人都能当观众。
征稿：新时代的科研范式
宣言之后，创刊号以“新时代的科研范式”为主题征稿，包括但不限于如下栏目：
一、科学的初心——科研的工具和制度应该顺应时代而变化，但我们需要坚守什么？复兴什么？什么是应当守护和发扬的“科学精神”？
二、科学的危机——当代的科研体制和科学文化的困境与危机有哪些？如何看待唯分数、唯论文、唯帽子等风气？学术界又在面临哪些新的挑战？
三、可感的科学——科学从来不是枯燥的文本堆砌，科学与艺术向来联系紧密，科学的可视化不仅承担着科学知识向大众传播的使命，更可能打开科学家的思路，促进跨学科的交流。本栏目旨在讨论科学可视化的案例和意义。
四、科学新前沿——当下的各科科学有哪些新的进展？有哪些正在被争论和探索的新观点或新方法？科研活动有哪些新态势？哪些跨学科领域颇有前景？科学的发展引发了哪些哲学或伦理的新问题？我们欢迎科学家投稿最新的想法，讲给跨学科研究者或普通公众听。
我们不征集论文（当然可以附上），而是征集想法：原创的观点，独家的数据和材料。不需要完整的论文，只需要你有独创性的想法，独到的视角，独家的数据和材料，甚至独特的失败经历。编辑会和 AI 一起，与你反复讨论，把它提炼、查证、补充完整，做成网站上的多模态策展页面和杂志里生动有趣的文章。纸质版有卷期号和页码，每篇文章都附推荐的引用格式。
Opening: the manifesto, The Renaissance of Science
For nearly two centuries science has grown ever more specialized, ever more like a job, and the joy of knowing has been pushed aside by the assembly line, paper counting and a flood of knowledge; AI is the third crisis, and also the turning point. The manifesto argues for giving science back to curiosity: letting more people get their hands on science, and letting everyone watch.

Call for contributions: The research paradigm of a new era
After the manifesto, the inaugural issue calls for contributions on the theme “The research paradigm of a new era”, in sections that include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. The heart of science — The tools and institutions of research should change with the times, but what must we hold on to? What should we revive? What is the “scientific spirit” that deserves to be guarded and carried forward?
2. Science in crisis — What predicaments and crises do today’s research system and scientific culture face? What should we make of judging people by scores alone, by papers alone, by honorific titles alone? What new challenges is the academic world facing?
3. Science you can feel — Science has never been a dry pile of text, and it has always been close to art. Visualizing science does not only carry scientific knowledge to the public; it can also open up scientists’ thinking and foster exchange across disciplines. This section discusses cases of scientific visualization and what they mean.
4. New frontiers — What is new in the sciences today? Which new ideas or methods are being debated and explored? What new trends are there in research itself? Which interdisciplinary fields look promising? What new philosophical or ethical questions has the progress of science raised? We welcome scientists’ latest ideas, told for researchers in other fields or for the general public.
We do not call for papers (though you may attach one); we call for ideas: original arguments, and data and materials that no one else has. You do not need a complete paper. All you need is an original idea, a perspective of your own, data and materials that no one else has, or even a failure that no one else has had. The editors, working with AI, will go over your contribution with you, back and forth, distil it, check it and fill it out, and turn it into a multimodal curated page on the website and a lively article in the magazine. The print edition has volume, issue and page numbers, and every article comes with a recommended citation.
